In my previous blog post, “8 WAYS TO RECEIVE DIVINE GUIDANCE FROM GOD”, I covered some of the ways we can receive divine guidance from God and one of them is through the discernment of the spirits, which refers to the ability to judge, filter and distinguish between the human spirit, the Holy Spirit, and demonic spirits.
In this blog post, I want to share that to judge, filter and distinguish between these spirits, there are many voices, and each have meaning.
1 Corinthians 14:10, says that “There are, it may be, so many kinds of voices in the world, and none of them is without signification.”
Below are some of the voices as revealed in the Bible.
1. Voice of God – The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit
+ Holy spirit – Acts 13:1-2
+ Jesus – John 14:6
+ God – Gen 1
+ God spoke to Samuel – I Samuel 3:10
+ Father, Son, and Holy Spirit in Matthew 3:16-17
2. Voice of Satan – Satan, Devils and False Prophets
+ Satan speaks to Eve – Gen 3:1,4-5
+ False prophet – 1 Kings 13:18
3. Voice of World – Voices from Worldly Wisdom & Counsel
+ Job’s wife counselling Job – Job 2:9
4. Voice of Flesh – The Lust of the Flesh, Lust of the Eyes and Pride of Life
+ The desire of flesh, Eyes and Pride of life – 1 John 2:16
5. Inner voice – Our conscience (Mind, Will, Emotion – still small voice)
+ Apostle Paul Perceived – Acts 27:10
6. Voice of the Dead
+ Saul consulted the Spirit of Samuel through the witch of Endor – 1 Sam 28:
The most important of these voices is the Voice of God, without a relationship and an encounter with God we cannot hear His voice.

I pray for the discernment of spirits; Lord, in moments of uncertainty, I pray for insight and clarity. Illuminate my mind to understand the choices before me and their potential consequences.
