2024 – YEAR OF HIS DIVINE PRESENCE

Happy New year and welcome to the year 2024.

This year 2024, will be a year of HIS DIVINE PRESENCE.

Moses understood what it means to have God’s presence, in Exodus 33:15, he said if God’s presence is not going with him, then he’s going nowhere. God response in verse 14 was, My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest, this is an incredible promise and we know God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good? (Num 23:19).

We know that God is everywhere, this is not what Moses was talking about, he was asking for the assurance from God to be with him in every step, decision and action as I lead His people.

This is true for us as well, as we go through the days, weeks and months in the year 2024, there are many decisions, challenges, junctions to cross and issues that will comes our ways and we need someone that knows everything, to instruct, to lead and to guide us. Our God is all-knowing, the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the ending, the one that declare the ancient things that are yet to be done, the captain of our salvation the author of our life. He knows everything about us and His plan for us are not to harm us but to give us the expected end.

The scripture says in Prov 3:5-6 “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths”.

HOW DO I EXPERIENCE THE DIVINE PRESENCE OF GOD?

To experience the divine presence of God, one must have a personal encounter/relationship with Him, Moses had a relationship with God, and he was able to communicate with and hear from Him (Two ways communication). Maybe you are reading this post and you have not accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and personal saviour; you have the opportunity now to confess Him as your Lord and personal saviour. Anyone that is in Christ Jesus is a new creature and the Holy Spirit become alive and take up residence. Apostle Paul said in 1 Cor 3:16 and 1 Cor 6:19 that our body is a temple of the Holy Spirit that we have from God, this assures us God’s divine presence.

The Holy Spirit dwelling in our body gives us God’s divine presence and works in us to accomplish the following and much more.

1. He convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and Judgement – John 16:8
2. He teach us all things. – John 14:26
3. He seal us in Him. Eph 1:13
4. He guide us into all truths. John 16:13
5. He helps us to intercede – Romans 8:26-27
6. He’s our Advocate/Counsellor/Helper/Comforter. – John 15:26/John 16:7
7. He strengthen us – Ephesians 3:16
8. He empowered and equip us. Acts 1:8
9. He brings gifts – Gal 5:22-23

Without His divine presence (Holy Spirit), we cannot do anything successfully for by strength shall no man prevail, we need the help of the Holy Spirit by engaging with Him daily as our Helper, Teacher, Comforter, Advocate, Counsellor, Strengthener and Intercessor.

PRAYER POINTS

1. Thank God for the Holy Spirit
2. Thank God for the amazing ministry of the Holy Spirit – Helper, Comforter, Advocate, Counsellor, Strengthener, Intercessor
3. Father, forgive me many times I ignore the prompting of the Holy Spirit
4. Father, help me not to quench the Holy Spirit but be drunk in the Holy Spirit
5. Father, prune all things in my life that are hindering me from abiding in you.
6. Father, please help me to receive the truth of the Holy Spirit by hearing, listening and being obedient
7. Father, endure me with the power of Holy Spirit, Let the power of Holy Spirit overshadow me.
8. Father, help me to bear fruitful in the Holy Spirit.
